Bianke
My passion for supporting mothers through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum emerged after the birth of my first child. I experienced a typical, medically-managed birth that left me feeling unprepared, regretful, and frustrated by my lack of knowledge and advocacy. This sparked an obsession with learning everything I could about birth, from books and podcasts to evidence-based research and support groups. Over time, I became more natural-minded, prioritizing what my children were exposed to and advocating for informed choices.
In 2019, I pursued my calling by becoming a Certified Doula, inspired by the transformative birth of my second child, which was empowering and eye-opening. I labored on my own terms at home, arriving at the hospital nearly fully dilated and giving birth 45 minutes later. This experience solidified my belief in women’s strength and sparked a desire to share that empowerment with others. After completing my doula certification, I also became a Childbirth Educator and Placenta Specialist, dedicating myself to supporting families across the DFW Metroplex.
My first homebirth as a doula was a pivotal moment in my journey, revealing that my true calling is to become a Midwife. Then, I finally got to have the homebirth I always dreamed of. The care I received from my Midwife was truly unlike any I have ever received before - I looked forward to going to appointments and the trust we built throughout pregnancy really helped make my birth and postpartum experience magical. Once the midwives left my home, my husband said, "It's just like a regular Sunday afternoon, except now we have a baby." I smiled, knowing that one day I will get to have normal afternoons with families while they welcome their babies at home.I’ve attended over 300 births to date and have witnessed both the beauty and the injustices within various birth settings. I firmly believe that for the vast majority of women, birth is a natural, physiological process that should be led by the mother and baby, and I’m committed to advocating for informed decision-making and bodily autonomy at every step. As I continue my journey toward midwifery, I remain dedicated to honing my skills and knowledge to ensure the safety and empowerment of every family I serve.
Bianke’s experience and reputation in the DFW Community as a doula makes her an excellent student midwife with us.
